These tropical prints are gorgeous! Lovely to be reminded of vacations in warmer climes. These are sized generously, almost as large as the rice bowls in my Villeroy and Boch sets etc. though minus the foot. They are a great size for cereal etc. These are made in the UK and are as beautiful as my other Botanic Garden pieces. I found that the Botanic Roses and these tropical patterns are a creamier base color than my original garden pieces which have a slight greenish tint to them. But these are beautiful added on and you don't really notice the shade difference when you set the table. I added these on since we have more people around on weekends, and I like this more girly feeling china vs the super tough fiesta which is the staple of my all boy(cept for me) household. There were no flaws in the bowls I received, but on the outside or bottoms, I know there are always occasional bumps made by flecks of sand. These are noticeable in all but the bake ware, and across pieces I have from over 15 years ago and bought from various stores too. So its not quite fine china.I had broken almost all of my Botanic Gardens bowls over the years, so I wanted to replace them. However, instead of replacing them with bowls with the exact same designs (which are still available), I purchased these because I thought it would be nice to have new designs. They are beautiful! The bowls arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I am sure I will enjoy them for many years to come.My wife adores her Portmeirion collection of dishes. Unfortunately, her son and husband have accidentally reduced her inventory due to neglect and careless handling. Thankfully I had the insight to replenish her collection without her encouragement. The replacement Portmeirion bowls have been a well received, and has brought about a return to household harmony. Made in the UK and are beautiful. I actually like the dishes as well.These are beautiful bowls in a perfect small size. I have had six for over five years and bought these after one broke.They were nicer than expected. Great quality and style. Thank you.I recently purchased this set of 6 bowls. These are the bowls I can't keep in the cupboard! Everyone in my family loves these little bowls. They are the perfect size for a snack, oatmeal, ice cream, cereal, fruit, left overs...consequently when I go to get "my" bowl, all of them are already in the dishwasher! So I just ordered another 6! They are the baby bowl size and match perfectly with the larger sized bowls, which we use all the time too. They are expensive but each bowl is beautiful and substantial. I guess I must be in love with this product!I have a set of these (along with plates and other bowls) that we got at a seconds store in England but they have faded over the last 30 years. These are brand new and stamped that they were made in England. We love the patterns and colors and they wear very well (still functional after 30 years through dishwashers and kids).I love the bowls! Unfortunately, one was broken upon delivery. Any chance that I can get a replacement delivered? We use ours for soup too heating it in the microwave with no accidental breakage or cracks. Also a good size for crisps and dips.
