I normally wouldn't consider paying this much for a piece of cookware, but I am very glad I did and it immediately became my new favorite. My old favorite small Anolon saute pan was the ideal size for much of the cooking I do for myself and I used it so much that I wore it out long before the rest of the set. But Anolon doesn't make one like it anymore for a suitable replacement. So I looked for one that would meet my criteria and only found two, and this one with the square shape totally captured my fancy and I had to buy it despite the price. I have used it for a couple months. It is quality workmanship. It is heavy enough to hold and distribute the heat but easy to handle. In fact, I am rather particular about the kind of handle I want which is another reason I had a hard time finding one I liked. A glass lid is a must for me, and it's the first one I've had with an adjustable vent in the knob. After washing it I just put it right back on the stove because it looks so sharp and will probably be used again right away.
